My Purpose

I am here for a reason

Which I don’t know exactly

I am living in the present

Which is the only reality

I know one thing for sure

That some day I have to leave

To the place where I came from

Leaving everything behind

Nothing is permanent

Where I live right now

Everything changes

Causing grief somehow

I wanted to be a candle

That shines upon darkness

I don’t know whether it happened

And gave the light at all

I wanted to be salt

That adds a taste to life

I don’t know whether it happened

And made many lives tasty

I wanted to be a breeze

That cools the heated minds

I don’t know whether it happened

And cooled anybody’s heart

I wanted to be a drop of dew

That quenches the thirst of earth

I don’t know whether it happened

And made grow a plant of hope

I wanted to be a star

That shines in the dark night

I don’t know whether it happened

How many were guided by that light

If somebody is sleeping well

Due to burden I eased from them

That is enough for me

To live this life on

If somebody is happy

Due to what I said or done

That is enough for me

To live this life on
